Paolo Petrocelli has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, the highest honour conferred by the country upon distinguished figures in the cultural sector for their contribution to the promotion and advancement of the arts at a global level.
The award was presented by the Minister of Culture, Zhanna Andreasyan, during an official ceremony held in Yerevan on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, of which Petrocelli is an honorary member. For the occasion, internationally renowned pianist Lang Lang performed in Armenia for the first time before an audience of over 6,000 attendees.
The Gold Medal recognises Petrocelli’s commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue and his contribution to strengthening artistic relations between international institutions and the Republic of Armenia.
“It is a great honour to receive this recognition,” Petrocelli stated. “I see this award as a renewed commitment to continue promoting dialogue between cultures and building bridges through music and the performing arts.”
